Job Description: The successful candidate will leverage their professional networks and people skills to support the dancker Higher Education | K-12 team by identifying, qualifying, establishing, and maintaining professional relationships with K-12 and higher education clients. This leadership role is essential in creating long-term positive value for our Education practice.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage all business development activities within the Education sector.
- Formulate business development strategies to expand the market sector.
- Be familiar with our regional sector portfolio, experts, as well as target market trends, publications, and associations.
- Establish relationships with partners including contractors, developers, AEC firms, and consultants.
- Work with management and technical staff to identify project opportunities, develop new business relationships, and guide leadership in strengthening existing client relationships.
- Review and improve proposal information and related marketing collateral.
- Partner with global, national, and regional sector leadership to ensure effective execution of all sector marketing and business development activities.
- Maintain a consistent and visible internal and external presence offering thought leadership, business development, and marketing leadership.
- Conduct Business Development meetings to review strategy and action with leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in planning, landscape architecture, architecture, communication, or administration preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience, preferably in private consulting or higher education setting at the project management level.
- Strong familiarity with bidding and funding capital improvement projects on university campuses.
- Superior knowledge of business planning and presentation software, such as Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with institutions and organizations effectively, as well as maintain a cooperative relationship with firm-wide project teams, practice groups, and market sectors.
- Highly collaborative, with the ability to coordinate and work in concert with the Higher Education Campus Planning Leader and Campus Planning Team Senior Planners across the country to share and develop strategies for growth and success.
- Sense of urgency, ability to multitask, excellent organizational skills, and strong prioritization skills.
- Ability and desire to develop meaningful professional relationships. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, analytical thinking, relationship development techniques, and business development process and procedures.
- Be a self-starter; entrepreneurial in nature and take the initiative to solve problems without close supervision.
